Ian Cuthbert was admonished by Edinburgh Sheriff Court after admitting to fly-posting revealing pictures of his wife in his local area.
Mr. Cuthbert, 47 had been married to his wife for only days, however he believed she was having an affair leading to him posting the pictures.
The court heard that the pictures had been attached to lampposts, trees and even a primary school notice board. They were emblazoned with the slogans: “Married and committing adultery within days” and “Lock Up Your Husbands”.
Mr. Cuthbert pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner, as a result of the distribution of these posters in September last year. The solicitor in defense of Mr. Cuthbert told of how Mr. Cuthbert’s was deeply distressed by the allegations against him, stating that he accepts responsibility for the offence.
The solicitor also made clear that teachers took down the posters put up in the school before any of the children could see them.
Sheriff McColl in hearing the case stated that Cuthbert’s actions were a form of assault and sought background papers for Mr. Cuthbert – his sentencing was then deferred for six months, then again for a further six months as a result of good behavior on the part of Mr. Cuthbert before finally deciding that he should be admonished.
